Process and pricing

Therapy is a space to feel heard, to explore what matters, and to begin making sense of life’s challenges. Whether you’re coming as an individual, a couple, or as a family, this page offers an overview of what you can expect when working with me, along with information about fees and availability.

Initial consultation

20 – 30 minutes

Taking the first step into therapy can feel like a big decision, and it’s important to feel safe and comfortable with the person you’re working with.

I offer all my clients an initial free no-obligation telephone or video consultation lasting between 20-30 minutes where I can get to know a little about you and your reasons for seeking therapy (for you, your child or family)

This gives us a chance to get to know each other better, for you to ask any questions you may have and for us to discuss the process of starting therapy in more detail.

I will not take any personal details from you at this stage. If I do not feel that I am the right therapist for you, then I will do my best to refer you to a more appropriate therapist or service. There’s no pressure or obligation, just a gentle opportunity to see if it feels like the right fit.

For clients aged 18 and under, or those who struggle to talk on the phone due to neurodivergence or disability this call can be with their primary caregiver or their elected person.

Contracting

If we go ahead with ongoing work after the first few sessions, I will send a contract to you via e-mail that we have both agreed on, that outlines both of our commitment and responsibility to the work.

Sessions

Individual – 50 minutes

Couples or families / reflective parenting – 60 or 90 minutes

Therapy sessions are usually at the same day and time each week. We will carry out regular reviews in line with your goals and plans as agreed at assessment. The process is flexible, so we can amend and adjust as appropriate.

For individuals: If you decide to begin, I recommend committing to an initial period of 4–6 sessions. This time is about getting to know one another, understanding what’s happening in your/your child’s life, and beginning to gently explore what you/they are bringing. It’s also a space to notice how the process feels for you/them, whether it’s your/their first time in therapy or if you/they are returning to it.

After this, we will review if ongoing sessions would be helpful, or if another service is more helpful, like a psychiatrist, family therapist, or another healthcare specialist. We’ll talk about how things have felt so far, what’s been emerging, and whether continuing feels right for you. If we agree to go on, we’ll move into deeper, ongoing work—open-ended or time-limited, depending on what feels most helpful.

Therapy at this stage often becomes a place to explore more deeply the themes, patterns, and relationships shaping your experience. We’ll go at your pace, returning regularly to check in on how things are feeling.

For couples and families: sometimes therapy is about the spaces between people—the ways we communicate, misunderstand, hold onto hurt, or long for something different.

I work with couples and families to support connection, improve communication, and navigate conflict with more understanding. If you’re unsure how many people should attend the first session, or how best to begin, I’m happy to talk it through with you in the initial call.
